Minor Injuries As Air Canada Plane Hits Turbulence

An Air Canada flight from Australia to Canada made an unscheduled landing in Hawaii on Friday after some passengers and crew suffered minor injuries when the plane hit turbulence.

The Boeing 777 aircraft, en route from Sydney to Vancouver, was carrying 256 passengers and 17 crew when it hit a rough patch of air an hour east of Honolulu.

The airline said in a release that nine passengers and two crew were treated for minor injuries and released. Two passengers and two flight attendants stayed in the Hawaiian city for further treatment, though the passengers have since been released.

The aircraft was delayed in Honolulu for two hours before resuming the flight to Vancouver.
