Airline already operates two of the same aircraft on regional routes in the country

São José dos Campos, June 24, 2009 –
Embraer holds a delivery ceremony,
today, at the Company’s headquarters in
São José dos Campos, Brazil, of an
EMBRAER 175 jet to TRIP Linhas
Aéreas, the largest Brazilian regional
airline. The company has five firm
orders for the EMBRAER 175, in a deal
that includes options for another ten
aircraft and purchase rights for 15 more.

“We are very proud and happy to receive TRIP as our new E-Jets customer in Brazil,” says
Frederico Fleury Curado, Embraer President and CEO. “We are certain that together, Embraer
and TRIP will make a big contribution to the Brazilian air transportation system.”

The new aircraft that will be delivered will join TRIP’s fleet, which currently has another two
EMBRAER 175 jets – and this E-Jet model is operating in Brazil for the first time – all of
which are configured to comfortably accommodate 86 passengers in a single-class layout. The
airplanes are being financed conjointly, in Brazilian Reals, by the National Social Development
Bank (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Social – BNDES) and the Bank of Brazil.

“We began operating in the regional market 11 years ago, with a pre-owned 30-seat EMB 120
Brasilia, when modern services seemed like a distant dream. Today, we are the leader in the
regional market and, with the acquisition of the jets by Embraer, a company that has marked our history as a great partner, we have become the regional airline that most invests in Brazil,” states José Mário Caprioli, President of TRIP. According to Caprioli, the total investments in technology, linked to a team of professional partners throughout this entire time, have made the difference.

The new route network of the company includes flights leaving from Santos Dumont Airport,
connecting Rio de Janeiro to 42 cities in all regions of Brazil, 13 of which are nonstop. The
operation was strategically developed so that the new EMBRAER 175 jets operate in a
synchronized fashion with the turboprops, thus optimizing the connections of TRIP’s main
hub airports with several Brazilian cities. The routes also offer connections to cities in all
regions of Brazil and a few capital cities, providing greater flexibility for passenger travel.

About TRIP Linhas Aéreas

After over ten years in operation in Brazil, TRIP is now the largest regional airline in the country, as well as in South America, serving the most cities with the biggest fleet of regional aircraft. It is controlled by the Caprioli and Águia Branca groups, both of which have a long history of passenger transportation, solid results, and sustained growth. Today, one of TRIP’s investors is U.S.’s SkyWest, Inc., the largest regional airline in the world, with 450 aircraft, which acquired a 20% share of the company’s capital. About the EMBRAER 170/190 Family of E-Jets

The EMBRAER 170/190 family of E-Jets consists of four commercial jets with 70 to 122
seats, featuring advanced engineering design, efficient performance, outstanding operating
economics, low emission levels and a spacious passenger cabin.

The E-Jets have a maximum cruising speed of Mach 0.82, can fly at 41,000 feet (12,500 meters), and have ranges of up to 2,400 nautical miles (4,448 km). The high degree of commonality among the four aircraft – EMBRAER 170, EMBRAER 175, EMBRAER 190 and EMBRAER 195 – results in exceptional savings for carriers, in terms of crew training and costs of spare parts and maintenance.

Another key feature of the E-Jets is the state-of-the-art fly-by-wire technology, which increases
operating safety, while reducing pilot workload and fuel consumption.

The EMBRAER 170/190 family provides superior comfort with its double-bubble fuselage
design, which includes two main passenger entrances and two service doors that minimize
aircraft turn-around time. The E-Jets offer much more space for passengers, in a single or
dual-class layout, than other aircraft with similar seating capacities.

The E-Jets have achieved outstanding success, with nearly 900 firm orders logged, worldwide.
This proven family is helping airlines to rightsize low load factor narrowbody routes, by
substituting 50-seat regional jets, as well as older, inefficient airplanes. The E-Jets are also being
used to develop new markets with lower operating costs and greater efficiency. For more
