COMMUNIQUÉ – EMBRAER EMB 120 ACCIDENT IN AUSTRALIA






São José dos Campos, March 22, 2010 – Embraer informs of an accident involving the EMB 120 Brasilia turboprop serial number 116, operated by Air North, in Darwin, Australia, during a
training flight, with no passengers on board. The accident occurred today, around 10:00 a.m.,
local time. According to the information received, the two pilots on board were fatally injured.

Embraer’s concern and deepest sympathy go out to the families, friends and loved ones
affected by this accident with Air North.

At this time, no further information is available. Embraer will provide full technical assistance
to the investigative authorities, led by the Australian Transportation Safety Board. For this
purpose, a team of specialists is being dispatched to Darwin, Australia.
