NASA Casts A Wide Net For Summer Of Innovation Partners

WASHINGTON -- NASA is inviting potential partners to participate in
the agency's Summer of Innovation project to engage middle school
students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning
activities.

The Summer of Innovation's goal is to provide experiences that will
have a positive impact on students' academic performance, choice of
STEM coursework, degree programs and eventual career path. The
project is focused on broadening participation in STEM disciplines by
underrepresented, underperforming and underserved students.

Through NASA's new announcement of opportunity, the agency seeks
unfunded partnerships with organizations to help achieve its Summer
of Innovation goals, reach wider audiences and build national
interest in STEM education. Potential partnership activities are
varied. Responses are due by Sept. 3.
