São José dos Campos, October 18, 2010 – In the inauguration ceremony held, today, in Beijing, at the facilities of Tianjin Airlines Company Limited, Embraer announced the airline as Embraer’s Authorized Service Center (EASC). This marks the first EASC established for the airline market in China. The Chinese company will carry out line and heavy maintenance for ERJ 145 and EMBRAER 190 aircraft, in accordance with China Civil Aviation Regulation, Part 145.

Tianjin Airlines, a subsidiary of the HNA Group, is the name of the former Grand China Express, which was the launch customer of the EMBRAER 190 in China. It also operates the biggest Embraer fleet in China and in Asia, with 27 EMBRAER 190s and 21 ERJ 145s in service, as well as 27 additional Embraer aircraft in firm order backlog.

“Tianjin Airlines has enjoyed vigorous development since its inauguration in 2009, and demonstrates high success in the operation and maintenance of both ERJ 145 and EMBRAER 190 fleets. We are proud to announce this new partnership with them,” said Siu Ying Yeung, Chief Operating Officer, Embraer China Aircraft Technical Services Company Limited (ECA). “By establishing Embraer’s first authorized service center in China, we are able to offer quicker, more efficient and top-quality services to our operators in China.”

“We enjoy good cooperation with Embraer. It is a great honor to be the first Embraer authorized service center in China and to join its global service network. We will make all efforts to provide high-standard services to Embraer’s fleet in China,” said Li Weijian, Chairman and President of Tianjin Airlines. “Our company sees this new partnership as a great advancement. We started with regional aviation, later we integrated both trunk line and regional flights with additional international services, and now we enter the aircraft maintenance area.

We’ll be happy to share our knowledge and success with other Embraer operators.” In addition to Embraer China Aircraft Technical Services Company Limited, which was inaugurated in July 2010, the authorized service center of Tianjin Airlines is the result of Embraer’s continuous improvement of its customer support and services capabilities to the Chinese market. Currently, there are 74 Embraer aircraft flying in China.
