Smyrna Air Center of Tennessee has been an authorized service center for a “new-old” GE aircraft engine – the former Walter M601, now modernized to the GE H80 – since last spring. Initially, the appeal of the imported PT6A look-alike may have been its low price, at least among operators looking at their options at overhaul time.
