The Aviator’s Ball www.aviatorsball.co.uk, a prestigious event in the aerospace industry calendar organised by the flying charity Aerobility www.aerobility.com has announced an impressive list of prizes that the UK aerospace industry has donated for its fund raising auction.

The ball will be held on the evening of 27th November at the award-winning five star Sofitel at Heathrow’s Terminal five. Guests will be able to bid on an array of money can’t buy prizes, ranging from jet formation flying with the Breitling Jet Team to a behind the scenes tour of Heathrow Airport. The key sponsors of the evening are Marks & Spencer and Breitling, although many more companies are supporting the event with auction prize donations.

All proceeds of the evening will go to Aerobility, a UK charity that owns and operates specialised planes which mean it can provide trial flights and experience days for the disabled community, as well as Private Pilot’s Licence (“PPL”) training. In 2009, Aerobility helped over 300 disabled people experience the joy of flight. The charity has flown people with every conceivable disabling condition, from spinal injury, amputation and Multiple Sclerosis, through to learning and sensory disabilities.

Mike Miller-Smith, CEO of Aerobility said:

“With just 2 weeks to go, we are now all set for an incredible evening of fun and fundraising. We are focused around giving people a great evening and hopefully generating some vital funds along the way. We are privileged to welcome distinguished guests such as the Red Arrows, the Minister for International Security Strategy, leading pilots and aerospace professionals.

“The funds raised from the event will underwrite all of our planned activities for 2011 and allow us to deliver new projects to support the carriage of support equipment for more seriously disabled people.”

The Aviator’s Ball is now sold out, but those who can’t make it on the night can take part in the auction through a commission bid or by telephone. Email info@aerobility.com for more information.
