Rolls: A380, 787 Engine Failures Unrelated

LOS ANGELES

Rolls-Royce says initial investigations into the Nov. 4 in-flight failure of a Trent 900 on a Qantas Airbus A380 show the problem was “specific” to this make of engine, and therefore not related to the Aug. 2 uncontained failure of a Trent 1000 on test for the Boeing 787.
