Embraer's U.S. customer center progressing toward year-end opening

New 70,000-square-foot facility will join Phenom production and paint hangars at Melbourne, Florida site .

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, October 2011 – Embraer is on schedule to open its new business jet Customer Center in Melbourne, Florida, later this year. As progress continues on the new center, the first Phenom 100 to be assembled at the nearby final assembly site is nearing first flight.

The opening of the Melbourne facility is part of Embraer’s broader strategy of bringing operations closer to customers and to its largest market, as the Company’s first industrial site in the U.S. The plant started operations there earlier this year with production of the Phenom 100 executive jet.

“With the production hangar and paint facility fully operational, the upcoming opening of the new Customer Center will complete our plans on schedule,” said Robert Knebel, Vice President, Sales, US, Canada and the Caribbean – Embraer Executive Jets.

At the new center, customers will be able to design the interiors of their Phenom, Legacy and Lineage executive jets. The one-of-a-kind new showroom will display full size aircraft cabin mock-ups and a vast collection of interior finishing materials from which customers from both domestic and international markets will choose.

The first Phenom 100 is currently having its interior installed and will go to the paint hangar the first week in November. The wing mate on the second aircraft is now complete. The third aircraft subassemblies are on site in the plant.

In 2012, Embraer expects to deliver 31 Phenom 100s from the facility. Employment at the site is expected to be more than 200 at that time.
