In 2011 the number of training instructors in Baltic Aviation Academy increased by 50%
Throughout 2011 the number of aviation training instructors in Baltic Aviation Academy increased by 50%. Baltic Aviation Academy (BAA) signed partnership contracts with 42 new type rating instructors and 8 Ab initio instructors. The final list can be found in the training manual approved by the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Authority and contains the names of 150 instructors.
At the moment Baltic Aviation Academy has an agreement with 117 type rating, 19 flight training and 14 cabin crew instructors. In total the aviation training centre has gathered instructors from 27 countries with a possibility to provide training consultations in 15 languages.
Concerning the most popular aircraft types, Baltic Aviation Academy is able to carry out trainings with 32 Airbus A320, 28 Boeing 737 CL/NG and 15 Bombardier CRJ 100 instructors included into the training manual. In addition to type rating courses, aviation training centre also provides cabin crew training with 14 instructors who conduct training programs such as Real Fire Fighting (RFFT) training, Crew Resource Management (CRM) courses and others.
‘A wide range of instructors from different countries who speak various languages enables the academy to offer programs designed to appeal to a variety of diverse cultures. For instance, if we are organizing a flight training course for Italian pilots in our Brussels base, we may provide an Italy-speaking instructor who can also provide consultations in the language native to the course attendees. The expanding list of qualified training instructors enables us to respond to our clients’ needs really fast thus ensuring that they shall receive nothing but the highest quality services,’ commented the CEO of Baltic Aviation Academy Egle Vaitkeviciute.
’Working as an instructor with the Baltic Aviation Academy was a real pleasure.
It is a very internationally orientated training centre with students and instructors of diverse backgrounds, which is a big advantage in my eyes; because sometimes it helps a lot if one can explain difficult subjects to students in their mother tongue. It can and will make the difference when students have to apply their system knowledge in practice”, said Maurice Herzog, the CRJ 100 type rating instructor from Austria.
Baltic Aviation Academy enforced additional emphasis to the instructors’ selection process in 2011. According to the BAA’s instructor’s standards the main qualities are experience and qualification, complemented by valid documents. The candidate is introduced to the special quality training program including introductory training, organizational training and guide through the type rating manual. Subsequently the instructor has to be approved by Civil Aviation Authority.
From the beginning of 2011 the training list has been expanded by adding 7 new types of courses for such aircraft types as Boeing 747, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, Airbus A330, Airbus A340, Embraer 170/190 and DashQ-400 which are conducted by 39 training instructors.
