Purple Pride: Open house to highlight K-State Salina
There's a place for everyone at K-State Salina, which is quite apparent during the university's annual open house. Participating in a club sports mini-camp or competition, creating a drama mask, trying to master chopsticks, and enjoying free Purple Pride ice cream are just a few ways the public can learn about campus and the student body, Saturday, April 21, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Cooking pizza in a solar oven, competing in a video game mini-tournament, celebrating the works of Tolkien, and learning how to use social networking as a professional are all on the agenda for the day, as are seeing through clouds, learning how to talk like a pilot, conducting chemistry experiments, crocheting finger scarves, flying simulators, building airplanes from candy, checking out student projects and touring campus. The Salina South Sensations, the Swedish Dancers from Lindsborg and K-State Salina's Spirit Cats will entertain the crowd with performances throughout the day. The Wildcat Breakfast Fly-In, 7:30 - 10:30 a.m., is a chance to meet K-State pilots and mechanics of the past, present and future while enjoying pancakes. |
