GE Aviation, the world's largest maker of jet engines, expects orders this year to fall 50 percent, a senior official said on Tuesday.
Jack Lutze, vice-president of sales for Europe and Africa, said that deferrals and only a few cancellations were likely next year.
"Everybody is looking to push back to 2010," Lutze said on the sidelines of the IATA conference in Kuala Lumpur.
