Enhancing maintenance in the Middle East for Airbus customers

Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies (ADAT), a Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) affiliate has signed an agreement with Airbus making it the latest member to join the worldwide Airbus MRO Network. ADAT, launched by Mubadala in November 2007 through the transformation of the former Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company "GAMCO", is the Middle East's leading independent aviation technical services provider for civil and military aircraft and is based in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The Airbus MRO Network is designed to provide customers with a worldwide choice of competitive maintenance services from MRO providers with Airbus aircraft experience. Since its launch in March 2005, Airbus and its MRO Network members have established performance benchmarks for maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Through the Network, Airbus also integrates a broad range of tailored maintenance and engineering solutions for customers called "Flight Hour Services" (FHS). Criteria for membership of the MRO Network have been extended recently, requiring new members to be capable of offering maintenance services for the newest Airbus types including the A380 and later, the A350 XWB.

Bruce Jones, Senior Vice President, Airbus Services and Customer Support, said, "It gives us great pleasure to welcome ADAT as a member of the Airbus MRO Network. The Middle East is an important region for Airbus, and ADAT has a broad range of Airbus maintenance capabilities, and it is also equipped with a state-of-the-art A380 hangar. Their entry to the MRO Network will enhance the customers' choice of maintenance services in the region."

John Byers, the CEO of ADAT said "This is an important step in our strategy to ensure we remain at the forefront of MRO services in the region, developing capabilities for the newest aircraft and providing our customers with a global support network". He further added: "Airbus' focus on maintenance efficiency and customer satisfaction are central elements of our own operating philosophy, and our acceptance into the Airbus Network is testimony to the quality of our work and the expertise of our workforce."

The Airbus MRO Network now includes the following 16 members:
