Christchurch Airport Reopens After Quake

New Zealand’s Christchurch International Airport is now reopened for flights, after an assessment found no significant damage from the earthquake that hit the city in the early hours of Sept. 4.

The quake struck at 4.30 a.m. local time, and the airport was closed through the first half of the day while runways and buildings were checked. Power was lost and the ...
