Boeing Recognized for Advancing Workplace Diversity and Inclusion

ATLANTA, April 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA) was recognized on Tuesday night with a Diversity Council Honors Award™ for outstanding effectiveness and achievements in diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

"Boeing's commitment to diversity means providing a work environment that's welcoming, respectful and engaging, where every individual sees the opportunity to contribute to his or her fullest potential," said Joyce Tucker, vice president of Global Diversity and Employee Rights.

The award recognizes the efforts of Boeing's Engineering, Operations & Technology Diversity & Inclusion Council, one of the top 25 U.S. award recipients. Applicants were evaluated on contributions and achievements in four categories: demonstrated council results; demonstrated management commitment; measurement and accountability; and communications and education.

The Association of Diversity Councils awards the Diversity Council Honors Award™ to companies that demonstrate outstanding contributions and achievements of diversity council groups that lead diversity processes in organizations and demonstrates results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace.
