Singapore Airlines To Launch LCC

SINGAPORE .

Singapore Airlines (SIA) plans to establish a long-haul, low-cost carrier in an effort to lure price-conscious consumers and grow its business.

The new carrier, which will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIA, will start flying on medium- and long-haul routes within 12 months using widebodies, says an SIA spokesman. It will initially source the widebodies from SIA, he says. The ...
