Having won an international long-term lease tender and signing the contract with International Vilnius Airport for the long-lasting lease of the fuel facility, the capability of which is up to 4000 cbm, the company Baltic Ground Services (BGS) has laid a solid infrastructural foundation for servicing Lithuanian, Polish and Latvian aviation markets. By obtaining the right to operate Vilnius Airpot fuel facility for the period of 10 years BGS not only ensures aircraft fuel provision in Vilnius but also its continuous supply to the company‘s bases located in Warsaw, Krakow and Katowicewith a prospect to reach Lodz, Rzeszów and Poznan. Currently the possibilities to further expand into the airports of Kaunas, Palanga and Riga are being foreseen. The annual lease fee is set at LTL 652 thousand, and the turnover reaching 150 thousand tones is expected no later than in 2013.

‘Success in this tender will enable to seek implementation of the set strategic goals and to provide our company’s current and potential clients with even better quality service. Investments into the company’s development this year have already resulted in acquisition of new tows, fuel infusion machinery and incorporation of several new excise warehouses. The infrastructure of the fuel facility at Vilnius Airport enables provision of chemically and laboratory tested fuel to the airports in Poland Warsaw, Kracow and Katovice where we have already got our offices. We will surely increase our technical capabilities. Our well developed logistics and warehousing system garantees flexibility and effectiveness. We are now capable of delivering fuel from Vilnius facility to many Polish airports at a smaller cost by ground transport than it would reach these airports if transported from oil refineries within Poland by rail. This is definitely our differential advantage’, - said Saulius Batavicius, CEO of Baltic Ground Services.
