GAL AVIATION Receives NADCAP Accreditation from Performance Review Institute

Quebec City, QC, February 2012… GAL Aviation has received NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) accreditation from the Performance Review Institute, of Warrendale, PA. The company has been accredited for anti-corrosion surface treatment passivation and chemical processing conversion/phosphate coatings, including painting and application of dry film coatings for aluminum alloy and stainless steel structural parts manufactured internally at GAL Aviation. Specifically, the accreditation applies to:

  • CP (Chemical Processing) Conversion/ Phosphate Coatings: MIL-DTL-5541
  • Surface Treatment Passivation: ASTM-A-380, ASTM-A-967, AMS-2700, QQ-P-35.
  • Painting /Dry Film Coatings MIL-PRF-23377 and MIL-PRF-85285.

Guy Lapierre, GAL Aviation president, said, “NADCAP accreditation is another important milestone for GAL Aviation, and, combined with our AS9100 Rev. B certification from last year and presently in process for Rev. C in June 2012, further solidifies the company’s international reputation as a provider of quality products and services in which our customers can have total confidence.”

The certification applies to GAL’s production procedures at their fully equipped, 40,000 square foot facility in St. Joseph de Beauce, near Quebec City, where the main activity involves the manufacture and assembly of aircraft interior parts. The company specializes in customized woodwork, monuments and concepts for large-cabin aircraft. Its expertise in production was gained from manufacturing thousands of components / monuments for the Bombardier Aerospace Global and Challenger platforms as well as Airbus ACJ320s.

GAL Interiors specializes in the computer-assisted design, engineering, manufacture and certification of cabin components for business, private and VIP aircraft, for both retrofit and ‘green’ installation. Specifically, this company unit focuses on galleys, lavatories, cabin liners and sheet metal and machining, structural provisions manufacturing and finishing, electronic devices, water system and electrical installations. The company also provides certification and documentation services to FAA, TC and EASA standards. Engineering and design for all equipment also meets these international standards.

GAL Technical provides consulting /outsourcing services in the field of business, corporate, VIP airliners and commercial aircraft. Included in its offering are entry-into-service and field representative support; maintenance planning and control; mobile technical team and project management support for airframe heavy maintenance and modification; quality control and records management; engineering and maintenance programs; aircraft interiors removal, refurbishment and reinstallation; maintenance administration and training, and AOG and warranty programs support.
