Corporate Social Responsibility: Bombardier Aerospace announces the winners of the 2011 CSR supplier awards

Bombardier Aerospace proudly announced the results of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) supplier recognition program at its 7th Strategic Suppliers Executive Meeting (SSEM), which acknowledges suppliers who distinguish themselves through their CSR initiatives.

The recipients for 2011 are: Pratt & Whitney Canada, the 3M Company and Aernova Aerospace S.A.
Bombardier also awarded honorable mention to PPG Aerospace and Sonaca Montréal to recognize their significant CSR improvements.

The ceremony took place at Bombardier Aerospace’s headquarters in Dorval, Québec, on April 18 and was attended by 39 suppliers along with key Bombardier Aerospace executives, including Guy C. Hachey, President and Chief Operating Officer; Janice L. Davis, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer; and Hélène V. Gagnon, Vice President, Public Affairs, Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Suppliers were evaluated based on their achievements according to Bombardier’s six CSR pillars, namely: governing effectively, valuing employees, building responsible products, operating sustainably, engaging suppliers and acting as a responsible citizen.

“Driving initiatives that lead to more sustainable practices throughout Bombardier Aerospace’s entire value chain is imperative,” said Ms. Davis. “Our CSR awards allow us to reaffirm our commitment to our suppliers and emphasize their strategic contribution towards Bombardier’s corporate social responsibility stewardship.”

During the event, Bombardier also recognized 14 supplier sites for their high quality, delivery and competitiveness standards in 2011.
